Actor and Palm Springs Resident Tristan Rogers Dies at 79
Hollywood and the Palm Springs community are mourning the loss of longtime daytime television actor Tristan Rogers, who has died at the age of 79.
Rogers was best known for his iconic portrayal of Police Commissioner Robert Scorpio on ABC’s General Hospital, a role he played for 12 years and one that earned him a devoted fan base. His performance became a hallmark of the soap opera, cementing his place as one of daytime television’s most memorable figures.
His death was confirmed by his manager, who said Rogers passed away Friday morning after a battle with lung cancer. The manager noted that Rogers had always been a non-smoker.
In addition to his time on General Hospital, Rogers appeared in various television and film projects and maintained a strong presence in the Palm Springs community, where he had lived for many years.
He is survived by his wife, two children, and a grandchild.
