Weekend Cooldown in Coachella Valley, Heat Returns Midweek

The Coachella Valley will experience a brief cooldown this weekend, with below-average temperatures thanks to a low-pressure system along the West Coast.

Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 100s, offering relief from recent extreme heat, before a strong ridge of high pressure builds back in by midweek.

Temperatures are expected to surge into the 110s by Wednesday, accompanied by very warm overnight lows in the upper 80s, limiting overnight relief.

Officials urge residents to take advantage of the cooler weekend to prepare for the return of dangerous heat later in the week.
