Airbnb Launches Reserve Now, Pay Later Option for U.S. Travelers
Airbnb has rolled out a new way for travelers in the United States to book vacation rentals, offering more flexibility when it comes to payments. The company’s new Reserve Now, Pay Later plan allows guests to secure reservations without paying upfront, making it easier to plan trips without immediate financial commitment.
The option is available for domestic listings that offer moderate or flexible cancellation policies. Under the plan, travelers don’t have to pay the full amount until shortly before the end of the free cancellation period. This approach ensures that if a guest cancels, hosts still have time to secure a replacement booking.
Airbnb says the new feature is particularly beneficial for group trips and budget-conscious travelers, giving them time to organize costs without losing the chance to book their preferred rental.
The company emphasized that the policy continues its efforts to make travel more accessible while protecting hosts from last-minute cancellations. By allowing guests to delay payment until closer to their trip, Airbnb hopes to make vacation planning less stressful and more affordable.
Reserve Now, Pay Later is currently available only for U.S. bookings, but Airbnb has not ruled out expanding the feature to other markets in the future.
