Palm Springs Library Temporary Location Opens Next Week at Rimrock Plaza During Construction

The Palm Springs Public Library will open a temporary location next week at Rimrock Plaza while the main facility undergoes renovation. The library officially closed to the public Friday, August 8, as the city prepares for a major renovation project.

Construction on the long-anticipated upgrades will begin August 25, with a full reopening scheduled for summer 2027. The renovation will bring improvements to the aging facility, enhancing services, accessibility, and community resources.

During the closure, all essential library services—including book checkouts, returns, and public programs—will continue at a temporary location opening next week at Rimrock Plaza, located at 4721 E. Palm Canyon Dr.

The temporary facility will operate Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The location will be closed Sundays.

City officials say the temporary site will ensure residents maintain access to core library services throughout the multi-year renovation process. More information is available at pslibrary.org.
