Palm Desert, CA - The Palm Desert High School football team is gearing up for another run at the Desert Empire League crown. After finishing last season at 6-5 overall and 4-1 in league play, the Aztecs are determined to climb back to the top. Head Coach Rudy Forti, known for his defense-first mentality, believes success will once again come from a dominant front line. Senior lineman Jackson Bishop, who racked up 14.5 sacks last season, will lead the charge on defense. With the graduation of standout Zach Gibbs, Bishop is stepping into an even bigger role as the anchor of Forti’s unit.

On offense, quarterback AJ Rivera returns under center, bringing both experience and leadership to the huddle. He’ll have multiple weapons at his disposal — senior wideout Jonah Toland, junior playmaker Trea Bolton, and in the backfield, senior running back Elijah Walker, who is expected to provide balance to the Aztecs’ offensive attack.

With veteran leadership and rising stars ready to make their mark, Palm Desert is confident they have the right mix to contend once again. Their first test comes August 22nd, when they host Brawley to open the 2025 season.
