World Breast Cancer Research Day: Eisenhower Health Highlights Expanding Treatment Options
Today is World Breast Cancer Research Day, and staff at Eisenhower Health are using the moment to spread awareness about screening, treatment, and the power of research. The hospital says it diagnoses more than 2,000 new breast cancer cases each year, with treatment lasting from a few months to a few years depending on the patient’s plan.
Clinicians emphasized that options have never been broader. Thanks to ongoing research and clinical trials, patients now have access to a growing range of therapies—including immunotherapies and targeted treatments—that are transforming outcomes. “In 20 years of oncology, we’ve seen huge changes,” one provider said. “It’s a direct result of research—and that progress will continue.”
Looking ahead, the Desert Cancer Foundation’s Paint El Paseo Pink walk returns in October. Registration is open now—head to NBCPalmSprings.com and click the Newsroom tab for details.
