Desert Recreation District Helping Maintain 40 Miles of Coachella Valley Link

INDIO (CNS) - A partnership between the Coachella Valley Association
of Governments and the Desert Recreation District to better maintain the
Coachella Valley Link was in effect starting Monday.
  

The agreement, announced last week, tasks DRD attendants with
keeping the 40-mile multi-use pathway clean and safe for pedestrians, cyclists
and low-speed electric vehicles such as golf carts.
  

Attendants began work immediately after the partnership was announced,
providing regular trash pickup along the trail, cleaning shade structures,
water fountains and benches, and reporting graffiti or other issues to law
enforcement when necessary.
  

``Our team is thrilled to partner with the Coachella Valley
Association of Governments to help care for this amazing community amenity,''
Interim General Manager at DRD Lindsay Woods said in a statement. ``CV Link
connects residents and visitors to our cities and parks in a safe, fun and
healthy way.''
  

``CV Link is all about access to fresh air, to recreation and to each
other,'' Woods added. ``We're proud to do our part to keep it shining.''
