Another Frozen Shrimp Recall Issued Over Possible Radioactive Contamination

Time now for Your Health Today, brought to you by Inland Empire Health Plan.

The FDA has issued another recall involving frozen shrimp — this time tied to Southwind Foods. The bagged shrimp are being recalled because of possible radioactive contamination.

According to the FDA, the shrimp were sold under several brand names at multiple retailers in nine states between July 17 and August 8. Consumers who purchased these products are urged to either throw them out or return them to the store for a full refund.

Officials say no illnesses have been reported at this time.

This recall comes just days after Walmart’s Great Value brand frozen shrimp was also recalled for the same potential contamination concern.
