Desert Hot Springs dominates in season opener with big win
The Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles opened their 2025 campaign in impressive fashion, rolling to a decisive road win over Rubidoux on Thursday night.
The Golden Eagles’ offense was electric from start to finish. Jaylen Turner led the way with three touchdowns and nearly 300 total yards, setting the tone for the night. Dominick Ambal powered the ground game with close to 200 yards rushing, including a stunning 98-yard touchdown run that came moments after the defense forced a turnover on downs.
Jesus Valenzuela added balance to the attack with two touchdown catches, showcasing a versatile offense that proved difficult to contain.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles' defense was lights out, according to head coach Roy Provost. Forcing three turnovers and consistently giving the offense favorable field position.
