Cal State San Bernardino President Tomas Morales to Step Down After 13 Years
After more than five decades in higher education, Cal State San Bernardino President Tomas Morales has announced he will step down at the end of this academic year.
Morales, who has served as president of CSUSB for 13 years, shared the news during the university’s convocation address. He reflected on his tenure, highlighting accomplishments that included leading the institution’s first fundraising campaign, which brought in $54 million, and doubling the university’s endowment.
He also played a key role in expanding the university’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, establishing a DEI board that has become a central part of CSUSB’s mission.
While Morales will soon close this chapter of his career, he emphasized that his commitment to the university and its mission remains strong. He expressed gratitude for the students, faculty, and staff who have shaped CSUSB’s growth during his leadership.
The California State University system will begin the process of identifying Morales’ successor as the transition moves forward.
