Sunnylands Brings Back Outdoor Movie Nights With Spooky Supernatural Theme
RANCHO MIRAGE – After a four-month summer break, Sunnylands is bringing back its popular outdoor movie screenings — this time with a spooky theme just in time for Halloween.
The September series is tied to Sunnylands’ new exhibition, “Curating Canopy: Trees at Sunnylands,” with all three films highlighting eerie supernatural elements. Guests can enjoy screenings under the stars beginning at 7:30 p.m. on three Thursdays: September 12th, September 19th, and September 26th.
The lineup includes classic and modern favorites — Poltergeist on September 12th, Sleepy Hollow on September 19th, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth on September 26th.
Organizers hope cooler fall weather will make the screenings even more enjoyable after the summer hiatus. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, low-back chairs, and snacks for a cozy night in the gardens.
Sunnylands says the film series is part of their ongoing efforts to connect art, nature, and community — this time with a spooky twist.
