Palm Springs Library Opens Temporary Location During Renovation

The Palm Springs Public Library has opened a temporary location at Rimrock Plaza, located at 4721 E. Palm Canyon Dr., to continue serving the community while the main facility undergoes a major renovation project through summer 2027.

The temporary facility opened after the main library closed Friday, August 8, with construction beginning August 25. Library staff selected the retail space at the corner of Gene Autry Trail and Highway 111 after months of research, citing its convenient parking, bus route access, and easy visibility.

The temporary facility provides all standard library services, including books, music, movies, computer workstations, and free Wi-Fi access. A drop box near the entrance allows for after-hours returns.

The temporary location operates Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facility is closed Sundays.

Library staff emphasize that all services remain free to the community, including digital resources like e-books and audiobooks that patrons can access without purchasing.

The renovation will bring improvements to the aging facility, enhancing services, accessibility, and community resources. More information is available at pslibrary.org.
