Trump Administration Approves Sale of 3,350 Extended Range Missiles to Ukraine
The Trump administration has approved the sale of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles to Ukraine, a major weapons deal valued at $825 million.
The missiles, which have a range of 150 to 280 miles, could be delivered later this year if the sale is finalized, according to U.S. officials. Funding for the purchase will come from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, along with U.S. Foreign Military Financing.
The announcement comes as Ukraine faces ongoing Russian strikes, including a deadly overnight attack on Kyiv, and as diplomatic efforts to end the war remain stalled. The deal follows President Donald Trump’s recent meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
While the administration has previously supported Ukraine with equipment to sustain existing weapons, this marks the first significant arms sale of new weapons to Kyiv under Trump’s presidency.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” the State Department said in a statement.
It remains unclear whether restrictions will be placed on the use of the missiles.
