CVUSD Teacher to Stand Trial on Student Misconduct Charges
A Coachella Valley Unified School District teacher will go to trial on charges of inappropriately touching a student.
Mario Manuel Valenzuela, who worked in the Special Education Department at Coachella Valley High School, was arrested in February following what sheriff’s officials described as a months-long investigation.
Court records show Valenzuela was released on a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to next appear in court on September 11 in Indio.
According to Riverside County court filings, Valenzuela does not have any prior felony convictions documented in the county.
The Coachella Valley Unified School District has not yet commented publicly on the case.
