Altadena Town and Country Club Reopens After Eaton Fire

The Altadena Town and Country Club, a historic community landmark founded in 1910, has reopened its doors just nine months after the devastating Eaton fire forced evacuations and destroyed its historic clubhouse.

The grand reopening, held months ahead of schedule, gave more than 700 members and their families the chance to reconnect and get a first look at the restored facilities, including the pool and tennis courts. While it will take several years for a new clubhouse to be built, the event marked a powerful moment of resilience and renewal for the community.

“It feels good to be back and seeing the familiar faces. Seeing our kids playing with their friends, it feels like having a good sense of community,” one resident said, echoing the hopeful spirit shared by many who gathered to celebrate.

For some families, the fire meant temporary displacement. One resident noted living in Highland Park while their home in Altadena awaits repairs, while others shared how they were out of their houses for months. Despite these challenges, there is a common determination to rebuild and restore.

As construction continues, the club and its members are focusing on the future. “Today is a celebration. It’s a celebration of hope and restoration, and I’m in for the long haul to get this done,” one attendee said.

With homes being rebuilt and foundations poured across Altadena, the reopening of the Town and Country Club stands as a symbol of the community’s perseverance and vision for brighter days ahead.
