COVID Vaccine Confusion as Cases Rise

New federal restrictions have dramatically changed who can get COVID vaccines, just as cases tick up nationwide and kids return to school. The FDA now limits vaccines to adults 65+ or those with underlying conditions - a major shift under RFK Jr.'s leadership.

But the rollout is messy. CVS requires prescriptions in 14 locations and has suspended vaccines entirely in three states. Walgreens offers vague assurances about availability "where able."

Adding to the chaos: CDC's director was fired last week, triggering four senior officials to resign in protest over what they call ideological interference. One departing physician said he could no longer uphold his oath to "do no harm."

Pediatricians are sounding alarms, noting that 53% of children hospitalized with COVID last season had no underlying health conditions.

Watch the full report above to see how this vaccine shakeup is affecting families and healthcare providers as the new school year begins.
