Authorities have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a man discovered during the Burning Man festival in Nevada over the weekend.

The victim was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood Saturday night near the festival's central gathering area. The discovery occurred as a large human-shaped wooden sculpture at the center of the event was being burned, a traditional highlight of the annual festival.
