NBC Palm Springs Launches Dish Detective Contest with Dining with the Davids

NBC Palm Springs is adding a new flavor to its social media lineup with the launch of Dish Detective, a weekly contest in partnership with Dining with the Davids. The game invites viewers to watch a short video showcasing three signature dishes from a local restaurant, then guess the restaurant in the comments on NBC Palm Springs’ Instagram page. Correct guesses are entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to the featured restaurant.

Last week’s mystery restaurant was Punzu Sushi in Palm Springs. This week, food detectives are tasked with identifying a spot serving three tempting dishes: golden fried zucchini strips dusted with Parmesan and parsley, pan-seared scallops in a creamy champagne sauce with bacon and linguine, and a lemon bar topped with berries and whipped cream, served in a martini glass.

Viewers have until Thursday at noon to leave their guesses on Instagram. The winning restaurant and the lucky gift card recipient will be announced on NBC Palm Springs’ Friday morning newscast.
