Cathedral City Opens Enrollment for Community Emergency Response Team Training
Cathedral City is encouraging residents to take an active role in community safety by enrolling in its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program, with classes scheduled for November.
The program is designed to prepare everyday citizens for emergencies, including earthquakes, fires, health crises, and other disasters. Through hands-on instruction, participants learn practical skills to assist neighbors and stabilize situations until professional emergency responders are on the scene.
City officials say the training is offered in partnership with local emergency services to ensure participants receive accurate and effective guidance. The course covers disaster preparedness, basic first aid, fire safety, light search and rescue, and team organization.
Enrollment for the CERT classes is now open, and residents are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot.
