US Navy vessels have arrived in Puerto Rico for military exercises set to continue over the weekend. The ships docked at Alfaro Beach in Arroyo on Friday, carrying amphibious vehicles and armored Marine Corps equipment. Several helicopters also arrived in the area to support the drills.
Military officials confirmed that the operations have been underway in southern Puerto Rico since August 31. According to the U.S. Armed Forces, the exercises are designed to enhance the Marines’ readiness and strengthen their operational capabilities.
The exercises showcase a coordinated deployment of amphibious and aerial assets, with Marines conducting beach landings and support missions. Residents in Arroyo and surrounding areas have reported increased military activity along the coastline.
Officials emphasized that the drills are routine and part of ongoing training commitments meant to prepare troops for a variety of missions.
