An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Tuesday, September 9, 2025!

The Coachella Valley will be under totally clear skies today with slightly below-normal high temperatures just above 100° with much drier air. In fact, middle-of-the-day relative humidity will be close to 10% this afternoon.

Because we will be sandwiched between an upper level low pressure center to our North and an upper high to out Southwest, the pressure gradient over the Southland will tighten-up.

Because on-shore winds will become gusty later today, an Wind Advisory has been posted for the San Gorgonio Pass into the West end of the Coachella Valley through late tonight. This advisory also includes area mountains and parts of the High Desert.

Although that Wind Advisory expires at 1a Wednesday, you can still expect occasional strong gusts throughout the day.

This Low will also play a role in chipping away at out temperatures. Coachella Valley highs will peak in the middle-to-upper 90s the rest of the week.
