Missouri Advances New Congressional Map Favoring Republicans

Missouri is moving forward with its latest round of congressional redistricting. On Tuesday, the Missouri House voted to approve a new U.S. House map that would give Republicans an advantage in seven of the state’s eight districts.

The proposed boundaries, which sparked debate during a public hearing last week, drew pushback from residents concerned about fairness and representation. Critics argue the changes could weaken the voice of Democratic voters in Missouri, where the state’s congressional balance has long leaned toward Republicans.

With the House vote complete, the proposal now heads to the Missouri Senate. Lawmakers are expected to consider the new map before the end of the week.

If approved, Missouri would become the third state this year to finalize new redistricting plans, joining Texas and California in reshaping congressional boundaries.
