King Charles III and Prince Harry reunited in London on Wednesday for their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months, fueling speculation about a possible end to the royal family’s long-running rift.

The Duke of Sussex was seen entering Clarence House in a black Range Rover around 5:20 p.m. local time. He spent just under an hour with his father before departing. CNN confirmed that the two shared a private tea during the visit.

The reunion comes during Harry’s solo trip to Britain, where he is attending charity engagements, including visits to the Centre for Blast Injury Studies and the Invictus Games Foundation. Earlier this week, Harry marked the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing by laying flowers at her final resting place in Windsor.

King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment, had been at Balmoral in Scotland before returning to London to carry out official duties, including a meeting with South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas. The last meeting between Charles and Harry took place briefly in February 2024 after the King’s diagnosis.

Despite signs of progress, tensions with Prince William remain unresolved. William has focused on supporting his wife, Catherine, through cancer treatment and balancing royal duties. The estranged brothers, though in close proximity during recent events, have not met.

The strained family dynamics trace back to Harry and Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they raised concerns about race within the family, followed by Harry’s memoir accusing Prince William of a physical altercation. Harry has expressed a desire for reconciliation but admitted that some family members may “never forgive” him.

For now, the reunion with King Charles is viewed as a small but significant step in easing strained ties.
