VEG ER for Pets in Palm Desert Offers 24/7 Emergency Care for Animals
Pet owners in the Coachella Valley now have access to 24/7 veterinary emergency care with VEG ER for Pets, located in Palm Desert. The hospital, part of the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), offers a new approach to handling emergencies for pets and their families.
Dr. Keith Mahansky, one of the veterinarians at VEG, explained the philosophy behind the care. “We were founded under the idea that emergency care for pets could be done better. Of course, our focus is on treating the pets, but also on supporting the families who bring them in, because emergencies are stressful for both,” he said.
Unlike traditional animal hospitals, VEG features an open-concept ER. From the moment pet owners walk through the doors, they are part of the process. Families are guided to triage tables, where doctors assess pets immediately for stability. If treatment or hospitalization is required, owners can observe procedures and even stay overnight in exam rooms designed with pull-out beds.
“The goal is to keep people and their pets together throughout the entire process,” Mahansky added.
VEG ER for Pets focuses exclusively on emergencies and works in collaboration with primary care veterinarians across the Valley. The hospital shares records and updates so that family vets remain part of their patients’ care plans.
Nationwide, VEG has more than 100 locations, with Palm Desert being the 13th in California and part of the rapidly expanding network. For more information and to find the nearest location, visit veg.com.
