An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Tuesday, September 16, 2025!

We'll soon transitions from hot weather today, to rain later this week.

The Coachella Valley will see lots of sunshine today with a few mountain clouds later in the day. You can expect above-normal high temperatures around 106° this afternoon with dew points in the 50s.

Next, moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Mario will be pulled-up into the Southwest beginning tomorrow. Clouds will thicken over the Valley on Wednesday while a few light, widely scattered showers will appear over San Diego County.

The bulk of precipitation for Southern California will fall on Thursday, tapering-off throughout Friday. For the Coachella Valley, the highest rain totals will occur Thursday morning and afternoon. Mountain thunderstorms are a possibility as well.

Skies will begin to clear-out Friday evening.
