Jake and Rebecca Haro Appear Again in Court

Almost two weeks after Jake and Rebecca Haro plead not guilty for the murder charge of their seven-month-old boy, Emmanuel Haro, today they are back in court for the felony settlement conference. This will be a hearing between arraignment and a preliminary hearing. The point of this hearing is to provide both sides a clearer understanding of the opposing party's case and the potential outcomes.

Today Jake Haro's attorney’s filed to push back the felony settlement conference and even though Rebecca Haro's Attorney objected, the judge granted that request. The new date for the felony settlement conference will be on October 16th and the start of the preliminary hearings will be on October 28th. Which will be where the judge determines if there is enough evidence, or "probable cause," to believe a crime was committed.

It was a little over a month ago when the mother of Emmanuel, Rebecca Haro reported that she was struck outside a Big Five in Yucaipa, and when she came to Emmanuel was missing. After both parents, Jake and Rebecca Haro spoke out begging to have their son back, law enforcement saw inconsistencies with Rebecca's story. Afterwards, both parents were uncooperative with law enforcement. And on the morning of Friday, August 22nd, both Jake and Rebecca were arrested at there home in Cabazon for the murder of their son.

After the arrest Jake Haro was seen with Riverside County Sheriffs off the shoulder of Highway 60, leading many to believe he was helping with the search for Emmanuel. Law enforcement later would not say that he was "helping" or "assisting" but only that he was there. Emmanuel's body is still missing even after the District Attorney’s office had said in a press conference that they had an inclination of where his body is.

Coming back to today, both parents again have plead not guilty to the murder charges of their son. And both the felony settlement conference and preliminary hearings have been pushed back to October 16th and October 28th.
