Palm Springs Man Charged With Murder in Fatal Shooting of 64-Year-Old Pedestrian
A Palm Springs man is facing murder charges after police say he gunned down a 64-year-old pedestrian late last week.
Authorities arrested 48-year-old Titus Holland on Friday following a shooting near Avenida Circa and Corazon Avenue. According to investigators, the victim was walking through the intersection when shots rang out, possibly from a moving vehicle. The man collapsed in the street and died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
Holland has also been charged with possessing an illegal short-barreled rifle. Prosecutors added sentence enhancements for use of a firearm and causing great bodily injury. He is currently being held at the Benoist Detention Center on $5 million bail.
Police say the motive for the shooting remains unclear as the investigation continues.
