Authorities Identify Teen Found Dead in Tesla Linked to TikTok Singer David

Authorities in Los Angeles have identified the body of a teenage girl discovered inside a Tesla belonging to TikTok music star David.

The remains were confirmed to be 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who had been reported missing last year, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Police said the body was discovered on September 8 inside the impounded Tesla after tow yard workers in Hollywood reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle.

Law enforcement sources said the remains were decomposed and not intact, suggesting Rivas had been dead inside the car for an extended period of time. The Los Angeles County medical examiner reported she weighed about 71 pounds and had wavy black hair.

The Tesla is registered to David, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The 20-year-old singer, who rose to prominence on TikTok, is currently on tour. A spokesperson for Burke said last week that he is fully cooperating with authorities.

The Los Angeles Police Department said they have not yet classified the death as criminal. In a statement, LAPD said: “At this time, the agency does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus we do not have any suspect information at this time.”

Police have not said whether Burke knew or had any connection to the victim. Meanwhile, his scheduled show in Seattle was canceled Tuesday night as the investigation continues.
