How to get started with Coinbase

I’m Jimi Fitz, also known as Crypto Fitz, and one of my favorite things to do is get out into the community and answer real questions about Bitcoin and crypto.

In this segment, the question is simple: If you’re new to the space, how do you get on Coinbase and start the process?

Fitz says the first step is going to Coinbase.com to check out their tutorials. Once you’re ready to connect your bank account, the steps are straightforward.

“You’ll have to prove who you are. You’ll have to do the front and back of your driver’s license. Normal stuff, right? Know your customer. They have rules they have to live by,” Fitz explained.

Once verified, Coinbase will confirm your identity and your bank account. Then you’ll be able to buy Bitcoin or other crypto. Your credit limit depends on your bank balance and your relationship with the bank.

“It might take you two or three days to open the account and get the clearances because they do some KYC stuff they have to do,” Fitz added. “But after that, you’re ready to start purchasing.”
