Boeing Nears Major Aircraft Deal With China, U.S. Ambassador Says

A major deal between Boeing and China could soon be finalized, according to U.S. officials.

On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue told reporters that negotiations on the agreement are in their final stages and could conclude within days or weeks. His remarks came during a news conference alongside a U.S. House delegation visiting Beijing.

While Perdue did not provide details on the scope of the deal, Bloomberg reported last month that Boeing was close to an agreement to sell as many as 500 aircraft to China. If confirmed, it would represent one of the largest aviation sales agreements between the two countries in years.

The potential deal comes as Boeing works to strengthen its international partnerships and recover momentum in the global aviation market. It also underscores China’s ongoing demand for new aircraft to expand and modernize its growing aviation sector.
