Find Regional Food Bank Expands With New Food Security Campus in Coachella Valley

Find Food Bank is marking a new chapter in its more than 40-year history with the opening of a state-of-the-art food security campus in the Coachella Valley. The nonprofit, now officially renamed Find Regional Food Bank, unveiled its new 40,000-square-foot facility during a grand opening celebration.

The expansion comes after years of operating at maximum capacity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when food distribution skyrocketed from 12 million pounds to 30 million pounds. CEO Debbie Espinosa says the new campus is designed not only to address everyday hunger but also to serve the community during times of disaster or emergency.

The food security campus introduces a wide range of new opportunities. Beyond food distribution, it will provide workforce development programs, including youth internships, financial literacy training, and health and nutrition education. The goal is to give people the tools they need to achieve long-term stability and break cycles of poverty.

Volunteers remain a cornerstone of the organization’s work, supporting more than 100 food distribution sites across the region. Community mentorship will also play a key role, with leaders emphasizing the importance of students giving back while building skills for the future. According to Espinosa, 13% of Coachella Valley residents face food insecurity, underscoring the importance of this expansion. Thanks to strong support from donors, volunteers, and community partners, Find Regional Food Bank will continue to grow its impact across southeastern California.
