Cooler Temps and Possible Showers This Weekend in Palm Springs; Warmer, Sunnier Weather Returns Midweek

We’re in for a bit of an unsettled weekend across the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas.

Expect showers and thunderstorms to stick around through this evening—especially in the nearby mountains and desert regions. Some spots could see heavy downpours, so there’s a chance of flash flooding where those stronger storms develop.

Palm Springs could see some isolated showers or a thunderstorm.

Looking ahead to Sunday, there’s still a slight chance for more thunderstorm activity in the mountains, but things should start drying out by Monday.

Temps will stay cooler than usual for this time of year, thanks to a deep marine layer hanging around through early next week.

Starting Wednesday, we’ll begin a gradual warm-up as that marine layer starts to back off. Expect more sunshine and a return to more typical desert heat by the end of the week.
