62-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash Near I-10 in Indio

Authorities are investigating a deadly crash in Indio that left one man dead Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol reports that 62-year-old John Keough was fatally struck just before noon as he attempted to cross the westbound Interstate 10 onramp at Monroe Street. Investigators say the driver of a GMC Sierra heading north on Monroe made a left turn onto the onramp and hit Keough.

The impact caused multiple traumatic injuries, and Keough was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP says the driver stayed at the location and is cooperating fully with investigators.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact the CHP’s Indio office as the investigation continues.
