Walmart to Eliminate Synthetic Dyes and 30 Other Ingredients From Store-Brand Foods
Walmart, the largest retail grocer in the United States, is making a major change to its store-brand products.
The company announced it will eliminate synthetic dyes from its private-label foods, along with 30 other ingredients including preservatives and certain artificial sweeteners. Some of the products that will be affected include cheese dips, sports drinks, and cake frostings.
Officials say the changes are part of an effort to offer customers cleaner-label foods while keeping prices stable. Walmart added that prices will remain the same during the transition.
The ingredient overhaul is expected to be fully implemented by January 2027, impacting thousands of items across the retailer’s grocery aisles.
