Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sentenced to 50 Months in Prison for Prostitution Convictions

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison, fined $500,000, and ordered to serve five years of supervised release following his conviction on two counts of transporting former girlfriends for prostitution.

The sentence, handed down Thursday by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, came after prosecutors had asked for more than 11 years, while the defense argued for 14 months, which would have equaled time served. Since Combs has been held in custody since September 2024, he will receive credit for more than a year already served.

On July 2, a jury acquitted Combs of racketeering and sex trafficking charges but convicted him on the lesser counts.

Cassie Ventura, one of the victims in the case, was praised by both prosecutors and the judge for her courage in testifying. Her attorney, Douglas Wigdor, said the 50-month sentence “reflects the serious offenses committed by Combs” and recognized the impact of his actions.

Judge Subramanian described Ventura and another woman involved as “brave survivors” who gave others a voice. “Jane and Cassie Ventura have been through abuse and trauma we couldn’t imagine,” he said. “I can only say your families are proud of you and your children will be proud of you for coming to the court to tell you what really happened. You weren’t just talking to the jury, you were talking to the women who feel powerless.”

Wigdor added, “We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing, knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many.”
