Server of the Week: Melissa at Oceana in Rancho Mirage Surprised with $1,000 Tip

It’s time for another heartwarming surprise in our Server of the Week series, brought to you by Honda and Toyota of the Desert in partnership with NBC Palm Springs. This week, we stopped by Oceana on Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage to recognize one hardworking and dedicated server — Melissa.

Anthony Caridi made the announcement, surprising Melissa in front of staff and customers. “Melissa, congratulations! You’ve been awarded Server of the Week,” he said as the room erupted in cheers.

Guests at Oceana had nothing but praise for both Melissa and the restaurant itself. “The food is just amazing — everything you order is superb. The staff is wonderful, and everything is done with perfection,” one guest shared.

Melissa, stunned by the recognition, said the $1,000 tip came at the perfect time. “The summer’s been kind of slow, so this definitely will come in handy. Thank you so very much. I’m honored and touched.”

With her dedication and kindness, Melissa is a shining example of the hardworking servers who keep the Coachella Valley’s dining scene thriving.
