SUV Catches Fire Inside Jiffy Lube Car Wash in Fort Myers
An SUV caught fire Monday morning while inside a car wash station at a Jiffy Lube in Fort Myers, prompting a swift response from local firefighters.
The incident happened at the Jiffy Lube location on San Carlos Boulevard in the Iona area. According to the Iona Fire Department, the vehicle was engulfed in flames inside the wash bay, causing minor damage to nearby walls but no structural damage to the rest of the building.
A Gulf Coast News reporter spoke with the fire chief on scene, who confirmed that crews were able to contain the blaze quickly before it spread. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials say early assessments suggest it may have started within the SUV.
Jiffy Lube operations were temporarily paused during the cleanup, and the facility has since reopened.
