Protesters Plan ‘No Kings Day’ Rallies Across the Coachella Valley This Weekend

Protesters across the Coachella Valley are preparing to join a nationwide demonstration this weekend known as “No Kings Day,” part of a coordinated effort to protest the current presidential administration.

Three rallies are planned for Saturday, October 18. The first begins at 9 a.m. in front of Cathedral City Hall, followed by another gathering later that morning in South Palm Springs along East Palm Canyon Drive near the Saguaro. A third rally is set for 4 p.m. at Sunrise Park in Palm Springs.

Local activist groups Courageous Resistance and Indivisible of the Desert are organizing the demonstrations, which they say are part of a broader effort to advocate for democracy, accountability, and civic engagement.

Footage from a previous “Action Day” over the summer — held June 14 — shows participants waving flags, holding signs, and marching through downtown areas, calling for government transparency and fair representation.

Organizers say the weekend events are open to the public and encourage community members to take part peacefully in the rallies.
