Sia’s Estranged Husband Requests $250,000 a Month in Spousal Support
Australian pop star Sia’s estranged husband, Daniel Bernad, is seeking more than $250,000 per month in spousal support as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings.
According to court documents obtained by CNN, Bernad, 47, claimed he gave up his medical career as a radiation oncologist to support Sia and now has no income. He is also requesting $300,000 in legal fees and another $200,000 for forensic accounting.
Sia, whose full name is Sia Furler, filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple married in 2022 and welcomed their first child, Somersault, in 2024. In her filing, Sia requested full legal and physical custody of their child, with visitation rights for Bernad.
Bernad said the pair once lived a “luxurious and upper-class lifestyle,” residing in a $12.5 million home in Los Angeles with a staff of up to 12, including chefs and masseuses, and traveling frequently by private jet. He also claimed that the singer withdrew funding from a ketamine treatment clinic they co-founded in 2022 after their marriage ended, leaving him without income.
This marks Sia’s second marriage. She was previously married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang from 2014 to 2017. In 2019, she adopted two teenage boys aging out of the foster care system, one of whom became a father in 2020.
