Dodgers One Win Away from World Series Return as Blue Jays Even ALCS

The Los Angeles Dodgers are just one win away from their second consecutive World Series appearance after a 3-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Dodgers now lead the National League Championship Series 3-0 and are on the verge of becoming the first defending champion to return to the World Series in 16 years.

Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski put up an impressive performance, striking out nine batters to set a franchise postseason record, keeping the game close through five innings. However, Tommy Edman’s RBI single in the sixth inning gave Los Angeles the lead, and a throwing error by Abner Uribe allowed Freddie Freeman to score, sealing the Dodgers’ win.

The Dodgers’ postseason momentum has been undeniable, going 8-1 since the wild card round. If they clinch the series, they’ll have a chance to defend their title—something not seen since the New York Yankees’ championship streak from 1998 to 2000.

Meanwhile, in the American League Championship Series, the Toronto Blue Jays stormed back to tie the series 2-2 against the Seattle Mariners. After trailing 0-2, Toronto’s offense exploded, outscoring Seattle 21-6 in the past two games. Veteran pitcher Max Scherzer, in his 18th MLB season, allowed just two runs in 5 2/3 innings, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his fifth home run of the postseason.

The road team has won every game so far in the ALCS, which continues in Seattle with Game 5. The Blue Jays aim to maintain their momentum and take the series lead for the first time.
