Crypto Fitz explains when to sell Bitcoin and other crypto investments

I’m Jimi Fitz, also known as Crypto Fitz, and one of my favorite things to do is get out into the community and answer real questions about Bitcoin and crypto. Thanks to Tradition Upholstery and Cornisa Custom Cabinets, that’s where we did the interviews.

This week, Fitz sat down with Fernando from The Home Collection, who asked a common but critical question: at what point should someone sell their crypto?

“Don’t sell your Bitcoin,” Fitz said firmly. “Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t spend a little if you need to, but the real advice is don’t sell your Bitcoin. Bitcoin is digital gold. It’s a hedge against inflation. It’s something to hold long term.”

Fitz acknowledged that the decision is different for other digital assets. “If you’ve invested in some of these utility coins, you need to know exactly what you’re invested in. If you were in Apple 15 or 20 years ago, you’d be glad you held on. But with other tokens, sometimes you’ll want to take profits. The key is don’t get greedy.”

He also explained how the crypto market has shifted. Traditionally, it moved in four-year cycles tied to Bitcoin halving events. But with Wall Street and major asset management companies now selling Bitcoin ETFs and other financial products, the old model may no longer apply.

“A lot of people say the four-year model is out and we’re on a big bull run now,” Fitz said. “Who knows how long it will last before it settles out. But I think the doors are open, the cows are out of the barn, the horses are out of the barn, and there’s a stampede. Everyone wants to know about this space.”

For Fitz, the takeaway is clear: invest in Bitcoin as a long-term asset, be cautious with other coins, and above all, prioritize education. “I’m not advocating for new people to be traders. I want you to be investors. This isn’t investment advice — I’m not a financial advisor — but my recommendation is education, education, education.”
