Padel: The Fastest Growing Sport in the World Hits the Coachella Valley
It’s fast-paced, social, and taking the world by storm. Padel is officially the fastest-growing sport globally, and it’s now making serious waves right here in the Coachella Valley.
With just three public courts in the entire valley, Parker Palm Springs is ahead of the curve, home to two of them and serving up serious competition and fun in a uniquely Palm Springs setting. NBC Palm Springs' Mary Strong set out to learn the ropes and find out what’s behind the buzz. She connected with local pro Caerwyn Evans of Wyn Tennis and Padel, who showed her the fundamentals of the game that's like a hybrid of tennis and squash, but easier to pick up and incredibly addictive to play.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking for a new way to stay active and social, Padel might be your next obsession.
