Animal Samaritans Asking for Community Help After Fire Damages Thousand Palms Shelter
Animal Samaritans in Thousand Palms is asking for the community’s help months after a fire damaged its property last May. All animals and staff made it out safely, but the fire destroyed a trailer, two vehicles, and damaged parts of the shelter’s play yard and exterior.
The nonprofit says it remains fully operational, continuing to care for and adopt out animals—but still needs to replace an outdoor storage shed that was lost in the fire. That shed housed vital supplies and equipment used daily.
Animal Samaritans is asking anyone with a new or gently used outdoor storage shed to consider donating. If you'd like to make a donation, contact Nena Marin, the shelter manager at: nmarin@animalsamaritans.org.
