Silvercrest CEO Returns to Court in Deadly Hit-and-Run Case

Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez appeared in court for the second time today at the Larson Justice Center in Indio. He faces multiple charges — including murder, hit-and-run resulting in bodily injury, and driving on a suspended license — in connection to the death of Christina Barrington, who was killed while riding her moped on East Palm Canyon Drive just over a year ago.

Rodriguez, who recently posted bail, stood beside his attorney before Judge Dean Benjamini during the brief hearing. His legal team said the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is still awaiting a large amount of supplemental discovery, or additional evidence, meaning the case will likely see no major developments before early 2026. “There won’t be anything meaningful happening probably before January,” his attorney told us outside the courtroom.

Meanwhile, the victim’s daughter, Christiana Lewis, says her focus remains on her mother’s memory. “I want the focus to remain on my mother and the fact that we all miss her,” she said, describing the last year as a difficult journey for her family.

Rodriguez remains out on bail under strict court conditions, including a ban on driving, consuming alcohol, or leaving the state. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 14, 2026.
