Trump Unveils Lincoln Bedroom Bathroom Renovation in Latest White House Redesign
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the Lincoln Bedroom bathroom has been fully renovated as part of his ongoing White House redesign. The president shared before-and-after photos of the project on social media, saying the makeover restored the space to what he described as “a look appropriate for Abraham Lincoln’s time.”
“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln.”
Photos of the updated bathroom show black and white marble surfaces accented with gold fixtures, including the faucet and shower handle. A white robe bearing the presidential seal hangs from a golden hook.
The president, speaking earlier this month at a White House dinner, said the previous design “was done by the Truman family” and “was not exactly Abe Lincoln.” He said he wanted a style that reflected the mid-1800s rather than the 1940s Art Deco trend.
Trump shared the announcement from Air Force One while en route to Florida for the weekend, amid the ongoing government shutdown and debate over federal funding for food assistance programs.
