Sam's Club Dietary Supplement Recalled Over Salmonella Outbreak
A dietary supplement sold at Sam's Club stores nationwide has been recalled due to potential salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall affects "Super Greens" powder sold under the Member's Mark brand. The FDA has linked the product to a multi-state Salmonella outbreak with reported cases in Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina and South Carolina. At least three people have been hospitalized in connection with the outbreak.
Salmonella infection typically causes fever and abdominal cramps, with symptoms usually appearing within three days of consuming contaminated food. The bacterial infection can be particularly serious for young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
Consumers who purchased the product should stop using it immediately. Additional information about the recall is available on the FDA's website at FDA.gov.
Anyone experiencing symptoms after consuming the product should contact their healthcare provider.
