Firebirds Launch Third Annual Canned Food Drive
The Coachella Valley Firebirds began their third annual Season of Giving Canned Food Drive on Wednesday, November 5, in partnership with FIND Regional Food Bank.
The drive, organized through the team's One Valley Foundation program, will accept donations through December 19 at all Firebirds home games, Acrisure Arena events, and Berger Foundation Iceplex events. Donors can also drop off items daily at the Berger Foundation Iceplex Welcome Center.
The organization has set a goal of collecting 6,500 pounds of donated food items. Organizers are requesting canned fruits, vegetables, beans, fish, soups, and stews.
Participants who donate will receive a raffle ticket for prizes, including autographed jerseys, game ticket packages, and team merchandise. Winners will be announced during the Firebirds game on December 27. Donors at the Iceplex location will receive a free skate rental valid for a public skate session.
The final collection date coincides with the Firebirds' annual Teddy Bear Toss game on December 19.
