Palm Desert Aquatic Center to Close for Major Renovation Beginning November 17
The City of Palm Desert is taking the plunge on a significant infrastructure upgrade at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center, launching a full renovation of the facility’s pump room and pool filtration systems later this month.
Beginning November 17, construction crews will begin work to replace the aging pumps, filters, and heaters that support the center’s three pools. City officials say the upgrades are designed to improve water quality, increase energy efficiency, and ensure greater reliability for years to come.
Due to the extensive nature of the project, the entire aquatic center will be temporarily closed for the duration of the work. The city anticipates reopening the facility by January 2026.
The Palm Desert Aquatic Center, a popular spot for families, swimmers, and fitness enthusiasts, has long served as a hub for recreation and community activities. Once completed, the upgraded systems are expected to provide visitors with a cleaner, more sustainable, and modern swimming experience.
City leaders say the investment underscores Palm Desert’s commitment to maintaining high-quality public facilities that support health, recreation, and community engagement.
