Small kitchen fire contained at El Paseo restaurant

A section of El Paseo was closed this afternoon after a kitchen fire broke out inside Il Corso Restaurant, located next to Starbucks on San Pablo Avenue.

The call came in around 1 p.m., and Cal Fire crews responded quickly, identifying the flames behind a stove in the kitchen.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire shortly before 3 p.m., preventing it from spreading to neighboring businesses. No injuries were reported.

During the response, El Paseo was shut down between Larkspur and San Pablo, causing temporary traffic interruptions. Crews have since cleared the scene, and the roadway has reopened.
