An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, November 14, 2025!
As an upper-level low pressure center approaches the coast, it will continue to pull-up moisture over the Western half of Southern California. Steering currents will move hit-and-miss showers to the North over the Coachella Valley.
The big rain day for SoCal will be tomorrow as this low moves over San Diego County steering all that moisture to the NNE. The Valley will see rain totals on Saturday between two-tenths-of-an-inch to just under a half-inch accumulation. The bulk of precipitation will fall to our West and over higher elevated areas. Mountain thunderstorms are likely as well.
This low will begin to pick-up speed on Sunday as it moves its way to the NE taking the rain with it. A few very light showers over the Valley are a possibility earlier-in-the-day.
A Flood Watch has been posted between this evening and Saturday night for most of the Southland and includes the Coachella Valley. Excessive rainfall and mountain runoff may lead to street flooding.
There will be a chance of rain over areas of SoCal each day through Friday of next week. But -- as far as the Valley is concerned -- the two days to watch for measurable precipitation will be this coming Tuesday and Thursday.
Stay tuned.
